ABOUT mB14

Rising Star: The Multifaceted Journey of MB14

Mohamed Belkhir, hailing from Amiens in the Somme, discovered music through rap, writing his first lyrics at the tender age of 12. His exploration of music deepened in 2010 when he discovered beatboxing through online videos, and he soon mastered the art of becoming a one-man band using his loop station, a device that records sound loops. Adopting the stage name MB14, he combined his lucky number with his initials. His musical journey took off in 2015 when he won the Picardie Mouv’s young talent event. That same year, he joined the Toulouse-based group Berywam, with whom he won the French national team human beatbox championship in 2016 and the world beatbox championship in 2018. MB14 gained wider recognition in 2016 when he finished second in the fifth season of “The Voice: La Plus Belle Voix,” right behind the winner Slimane. He returned to “The Voice” in 2021 for the All Stars season, where he secured third place, following Louis Delort and winner Anne Sila. In April 2018, MB14 left Berywam to embark on a solo career. His solo pursuits included playing a young rapper who discovers opera singing in Claude Zidi Jr.’s 2022 film “Tenor,” for which he also composed the theme music. He starred alongside Michèle Laroque. In 2023, MB14 participated in “Britain’s Got Talent,” where he advanced directly to the live semi-finals, thanks to the Golden Buzzer from hosts Ant and Dec.
